Tours and guides to the Basque
Country and Northern Spain
I'm Gabriella Ranelli de Aguirre, the director of Tenedor Tours.
I left the New York art world more than 10 years ago to settle in the Basque Country on the French border with Northern Spain.
It is a unique and beautiful area, home to Europe's most ancient culture. The wild mountainous landscape which drops down to wide sandy beaches has historically protected the area from the Romans, the Moors and mass tourism.
The Basques are warm and hospitable people but often a personal introduction is needed to get by their reserve. My husband Aitor, born and raised in the Basque Country, offers valuable insight into the history, language and culture of his people.
Together, we would like to share this extraordinary region with you. Join us in the kitchens of renown chefs and on private tours of traditional family run vineyards as we tour the Basque Country.
You will see ancient Basque traditions co-existing alongside cutting edge architecture in Bilbao home of Frank O. Gehry's new Guggenheim Museum, and the Belle Epoque splendor of San Sebastian
