1988-ko Irailak 23-koaren arratsaldea, beste edozein bezalakoa zen, Donostian polizia espainolak hil zutenean Mikel Kastresana, liburu batekin "armatuta"; estatu espainolaren politika errepresibak Euskal Herriaren aurka beste izena bere gain hartu zuen "estatuaren ondasunagatik". Dena dela, estatu "demokratikoren" lotsagarriena gero etorriko zen.

Era una tarde como otra cualquiera, la del 23 de aquel setiembre de 1988, cuando Mikel, "armado" con un libro, fue abatido por las balas de la policía española en Donostia; la politica represiva del estado español hacia Euskal Herria engrosaba de este modo otro nombre más a su lista de crímenes "por el bien del estado". Sin embargo, lo más sangrante y vergonzoso de un estado que se autoproclama "de derecho" estaba aún por llegar.
